Star ROBERT M. DAVIDSON

Robert ("Bob") Mark Davidson born March 22, 1951 in Skokie, IL, suffered a massive stroke on January 17, 2023 and passed away on January 24, 2023.  At the time of his death, Bob lived in Plano, Texas. He is survived by his two daughters Susan and Sarah, three grandchildren, and his ex-wife Melinda (of West Palm Beach, FL) his sister Lynn Gurlan and brother Paul (Kathy) Davidson both residing in the Chicago area. He was preceded in death by his mother Ada N. Davidson and his father Allen Davidson.

Bob lived on Hamlin, just north of Pratt.  After graduating Lincoln Hall Junior High School, he attended Niles West High School where he was on the gymnastics team. After graduating from Niles West Bob enrolled in the University of Oklahoma (Norman).

Bob became a skilled baker, specializing in traditional Jewish baked goods and delicatessen fare. During his career in the bakery and restaurant business, Bob owned and operated multiple retail and wholesale bagel establishments and delicatessen style restaurants in California, Texas and Florida.

Bob donated his body to the Dallas Teaching Hospital for research/education. No funeral or memorial services are planned.

Bob and I were great friends all through high school. Many great memories of summer cruising around at night. RIP.

Thank you Jim, for sharing this sad news. I knew and remembered Bob from high school. I didn't know  he became such a great baker. What a wonderful legacy he left with his delicatesens. To all that knew and loved him, may his memory be a blessing.
